The Dance
Nature has begun to dance,
with clouds for handkerchiefs,
the earth pours strong wine
from bursting golden grapes.
At once, the sky was lit by the morning laughter of the sun.
A smile appeared at the edge of the horizon, waking every living thing upon this earth.
In the deep blue of the north, a flock of bee-eaters appeared.
They painted the sea with a many-coloured palette, and their song began
as soon as they settle on the rocks to rest.
And all the while, the gentle ripple of the sea and the soft morning breeze
join their song, lulling Master – Anestis to sleep,
as dawn begins to break a tender light.
It had been years since he had known so much wine and so much song.
Not since he had fallen into mourning.
But one must go on.
Just as night goes towards the day.
With light and song.
Life, full of revelry,
and drenched into wine.
May it dance wild and free,
forever drunk through time.
